yore returns with the 3rd release on the yore limited series. 300 limited copies in green transparent vinyl. a beauty musically and for the eye. orlando b. favours the kind of funky and raw-sounding techno that flourished during the late-’90s and early-’00s and so naturally invests his maiden voyage on the yore imprint with the same kind of classic soul that renders that earlier era’s sound so appealing. ” beneath the surface ep ” largely focuses on warm house grooves. “a feeling” dishes out eight minutes of classic deep house that’s also as funky as hell. a subtle latin percussion vibe sneaks in at the beginning but quickly enough the tune rolls out a warm house strut that dominates thereafter, piano sprinkles, lush strings, and a crisp, hi-hat-spun groove give the tune added style and flair, as does the insistence of the titular vocal sample. “esoteric” digs into a steamy, bass-driven house beat that’s both raw and funky, then slathers it with a synth solo that squeals with delight, while “new york tale” smoothens its techno core with warm chords and delicious house swing. “mj12&#8243,,,, is the coolest and most techy cut on this diverse four cut ep. orlando b. sprinkling billowing dub chords and a spoken voice sample over a rock-solid tech-house base that will go straight under your skin, when it hits you on the dancefloor. 300 copies left still. go grab yours before it’s too late

lil tony is hotter than hot. while starting to dj and produce years ago, tony has been a staple in the scandinavian club scene since the early 90s. an amazing dj (actually one of the favourites around the moodmusic hq) and a talented producer, tony started with the fbi project with roberto rodriguez and kimmo oksanen before dropping some serious damage on raw trax vol. 1 last year on moodmusic. caned by everyone from luciano (he edited his own version of semble) to dj hell, tonys raw grooves cut the crap and moved people when other producers had to take a leak. hardworking, never forgetting his gentleman manners, tony is here to stay and raw trax vol. 2 is a bold new statement, and his best work to date. solid state takes the classic detroit influenced drum machine vs piano theme a step forward, a impeccable jam of 15 minutes with the beat keeping the pace, this has been roadproofed the last 6 months to good effect. the b-side karamba is a dry, tight driven tech-workout, perfect mixtool for the deeper techno as well as housier sets. it just works well. the closing checkpoint charlie is a tale of >lost in helsinki< – dark mean bass wanders around and gives space for the chuggin main line, monotonic body music at its best.

ich rieche blut is the hardtechno project by fiv from spain. for the third release he comes hard on the a1 track with his samples from hell and his beats that will even scare the demons away! talking about demons with jason little on the a2 you know you will run to your mommy! fergis from spain on the b1 is the main man from spain with his successfull killfactory records, hard stuff.. motormorfoses is last on this ep and he is the one with the off beat hard techno flavour, fresh!

you may not have heard so much from andre (aka &me) so far. instead of the flash and glitter associated with most of his producer colleagues, hes preferred to stay in the shadows, co-producing and ghost writing for artists like dj hell and terranova. now after putting out his first solo single on keinemusik, which was supported by all the key players (front room label boss jesse rose, luke solomon, gabriel ananda, danny tenaglia and dubfire plus many more) &me is finally ready to go public as they say. he may have taken some time to figure out his own style of blending techno and house music but now hes out theres really no escape. with a name like an attention deficit childs mantra its a wonder he stayed in so long. the on ep is an excursion into the type of techno dusted pulsating minimal house that has been so big for artists like luciano esse and arnaud le texier and which is heard on heavy rotation in berlin meccas like bar25. with a side on ever present digital squelches (reminiscent of a rolf harrris style wobble board) are laid over shakers, stripped-back beat and the familiar on vocal. its not hard to understand why tiefschwarz have been rinsing it for quite some time now as a huge afterhours groover. b side talking days, swimming in lush deep techno elements, weaves through more melodic territory but is no less infectious

nice price deal !!! intimacy waste no time in following up paul woolfords >false prophet ep< with another missive, this time from belfast duo timmy stewart& john mciver - collectively known as jet project. responsible for a steady stream of dancefloor moments which often combine a rare appreciation for dancefloor dynamics, engaging & provocative sample sources, and a knack for arrangement that maintains the energy. its not surprising to know that andrew weatherall is a fan. label head paul woolford first met the boys in belfast in 2003 and after many repeat visits to play at their residencies, the stiff kitten and shine, (both techno institutions), their bond was sealed. the title track from this ep takes a large part of its inspiration from a charles baudelaire recital and is hard evidence that jet project truly take their lead from nobody. on the flip, we march at dawn furthers the cause - and we are then taken on a ride by the in-form sian via his heart bound for hell reworking, which rebuilds the track and surges upwards with more pressure, capping off a killer new ep for all involved..
